The Ring

When I told my parents that I was actually going to propose, my Mom said that I could use my grandmother’s ring. And while the idea of using a ring with some history was very appealing, I felt that there was a good chance that Erin would say no if she got this:

So, armed with two pieces of information about what Erin wanted in a ring (1. platinum band, 2. a SURPRISE) I went looking for a designer to repurpose Mamaw’s stones.  I found the perfect partner in Red Start Design.  They took my vague design ideas (simple, clean design; wearable for 50 years) and came up with exactly what I was looking for:

Erin designed the wedding band, using the smaller stones to crate an eternity ring that mates perfectly with the engagement ring:

We had a few small stones left over, so Red Start mounted one on the inside of my simple band to secretly link the two rings together.  Very cool.

If you are looking to design a unique piece of jewelry, I wholeheartedly recommend Red Start Design.  Their patient collaboration helped come up with the perfect ring for Erin.  If I do say so myself. 🙂
