When I told my parents that I was actually going to propose, my Mom said that I could use my grandmother’s ring. We’re getting married on August 4th, 2012 in San Francisco, California.  Save the dates will go out in a week or two.  If all goes according to plan, we’ll be getting married at the same place we got engaged.  See the engagement scene at the beginning of the video below for a sneak preview!

My friend Barry White says that a girl can fool you for a year; do not even think about making a commitment in the first year. The second year is where you figure out if she’s the one. Then, he says, at the end of the second year, if you’re sure this is it, you take one more year as a safety factor. On August 10, 2011, throwing all caution to the wind, I decided to forgo the safety. Erin Connolly honored me by accepting my ring. I hope she wears it for 50 years.
